‘The Summer of Me’
Every year, I am used to go to Tunisia, my origin country where my parents grew up. That’s a tradition.
Only once I haven’t been, it was the summer of coming back from Erasmus and handing in my thesis.
And maybe Covid also, I don’t remember. Anyways, in any case, it must be the 3rd time at most.
But this time is special, it is somehow a bit more…intentional.
June 2024
I had just moved into my new apartment, which I am a proud owner of. It was a big achievement for me, especially considering my status of recent freelancer/entrepreneur.
Back then, everyone told me it’s red flags everywhere, don’t do it. But my intuition or gut feeling was telling me that this was a good thing for me. Rationally, it is risky, yes. But I decided that I wouldn’t live in the rational, so-called ‘3D world’ anymore. “I now believe in miracles, in transforming the impossible into possible. And so it is."
So I stayed, to enjoy and immerse myself into my new home.
But also to shape my future, including my business.
This would be ‘The Summer of Me’, where I would work, but also take time for myself, rest, sleep, cook, visualise the life that I want to manifest and create for myself.
‘ Your mentality is your reality ‘
Here’s a powerful quote I have sort of felt inside of me for a long-time. I thought I must have heard it somewhere but never was able to find out its potential author, if any. So maybe I did truly create it ? That would be cool.
Anyways, nowadays more than never, it is one of the most powerful truths and beliefs I think we can hold and cultivate in - and to build - our life.
One of the routines that I have put in place is listening to audio affirmations on YouTube every morning, while I prepare or mostly while I am having breakfast.
This is just an example. There are plenty of channels out there and you need to find the one that fits with you, the voice, the speed, the language that works with you.
Found it ? Great !
Pro Tip
One of my coaches once taught me a very cool and simple way to anchor a routine (because I am not - wasn’t - such a routine person actually). It’s called stacking. Basically, you just add something on top of a habit that is already established.
Ex: I brush my teeth every morning, that’s the moment to do affirmations.
In this case, I am actually very proud because I stacked up 2 good habits at once: having breakfast (which I often skipped before) and listening to my affirmations !
You could also do this while walking the dog, drinking your coffee, or going out for your daily 10.000 steps (right ? ;)).
Because I (and you probably don’t either) couldn’t just sit on my sofa for 10-30 minutes in the morning. This means in total I would have to plan at least 1 hour of preparation before I can kick start my day, that was kinda too much for me at that time. I have to admit though, with all of the changes that happened in my life in the past few months, I can or could now - but I will tell you more about that in another article soon ;)
Conclusion
Your mentality is your reality. Chose to believe in miracles, in transforming the impossible into possible.
Practice daily affirmations (tip: stack it over an existing habit)
Take some intentional time to shape your future, including your business/career.
